Two men were detained on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack at the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Reuters reports citing Brazilian police.
According to security officials, the criminals were probably supporters of the terrorist group "Islamic state" (ISIS, Daesh). Both of the detainees - the citizens of Brazil, their names are not specified.
During the investigation the terrorist attack attempt three other men were arrested, but they were released after questioning.
Earlier, Brazilian police arrested 12 members of the group was planning attacks at the Olympics in Rio. Authorities believe that the militants were not members of the ISIS, but tried to make contact with the Islamists.
