The Head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that, according to the latest research data, immunity to a new coronavirus infection is formed, including in those patients who did not have clinical manifestations of the disease.
In addition, up to 30% of people over 60 years old, who did not have clinical manifestations and who were not registered as sick, also formed immunity, she added, speaking at a meeting of the council of rectors of medical universities in Russia.
According to Popova, such data was obtained during a large-scale study of the immunity of COVID-19 in Russia, in which more than 70 thousand people participated.
“This inspires some hope. But at the same time, with a significant dose of the resulting infection, a clinical picture develops, and our scientists today say that an immune response develops at low doses; the body is one that causes a difficult “clinic”, – said Popova.
She also noted that the epidemic process for COVID-19 in Russia is manageable. “The current situation is assessed as stabilizing,” Popova said.
