Russia is developing a system of low-earth orbit communication satellites providing broadband Internet access.

This was announced on Tuesday by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with students of the Kuban State University.

“Now it is very important in the world, and we are actively working on this. A system of constellation of low-orbit satellites for organizing broadband Internet communications,” he said.

This question was raised by a member of the KubSU team on space systems development. “We have been engaged in space research for the third year, one of the promising projects has already passed through tests,” he said.

According to Mikhail Mishustin, this future belongs to broadband communications. “Therefore, it would be great to concentrate our knowledge in this direction. A large federal program is planned,” he said.
