In Crimea, in the near future, they will begin testing a special system for “knocking” precipitation from the clouds, said the Prime Minister of the Republic Yuri Gotsanyuk.
The politician noted that the An-26B “Cyclone” aircraft, upon detection of clouds and clouds, will cause precipitation from them. This is necessary due to the problems with the dry rivers of Crimea, which became known earlier.
“As soon as the clouds are visible in the sky, they carry precipitation over the Belogorsk, Simferopol and Bakhchisarai regions. As soon as there are such clouds, we will definitely call the plane. We hope that this service will bring us positive results,” Gotsanyuk said on the air of “Crimea 24” TV Channel.
In terms of technology, silver iodide will be used to cause rain.
The Crimean authorities already have signed an agreement with the structure of Roshydromet on testing this technology.
The public news service previously reported that in the Republic of Crimea, due to drought and lack of precipitation, all major rivers dried up – Alma, Belbek, Chernaya, Kacha. Moreover, the Tonas River dried up for the first time in the entire history of observations.
