The Novichok poisoning system is comparable in efficiency to nuclear weapons of the same weight or volume, said the developer of the substance, Leonid Rink, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, the advantage of “Novichok” was that with its use “the entire material part of the enemy would remain intact” and could be used.
In addition, the substance has been designed to be “as effective as possible, but short-lived,” Rink said. He explained that in this way the system did not pose a danger to the advancing Soviet soldiers.
“Novichok” is a group of chemical toxic substances developed in the USSR.
