“I instruct from January 1, 2022 to introduce a complete ban on the export from Russia of unprocessed or rough, only for the type of processed timber of coniferous and valuable deciduous species. As suggested by the Deputy Prime Minister,” Putin said during a meeting on development and decriminalization forest complex.
He stressed that it is necessary to put a rigid barrier on the uncontrolled export of untreated timber. “We have already talked about this many times, many times. But for this we should even more actively use modern digital technologies, launch a federal information system of the forestry complex, including the state forest register in electronic form. according to the rules common to all subjects of the Federation,” the president said.
“A single system should record timber and transactions with it. Today it sounded: transactions – for one volume, and felling – for another volume. This should be done in order to be able to trace the entire chain: from felling to manufacturing finished products. and its export outside the Russian Federation, “he added.
According to Putin, this will allow eliminating all kinds of loopholes, gray schemes, getting rid of the criminal component of the forest business and making the work of bona fide companies and enterprises more convenient.
“In the pilot mode, the system of accounting for timber and transactions with it should start working from January 1 of next year, and from July 1, its use should become mandatory,” he said.
