Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow will not listen to statements from the United States about illegal rallies in Russia.
Moscow does not intend to listen to Washington’s opinion about the unauthorized actions that took place in some Russian cities on January 31.
Peskov stressed that illegal pickets took place in many European countries that day and local law enforcement agencies had to “work hard and hard to ensure law and order.”
“We are not ready to perceive and listen to the statements of the Americans on this score and we will not do this,” the presidential press secretary said in a conversation with reporters.
The Russian Foreign Ministry previously pointed to double standards in the statements of the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and the US Embassy in Moscow regarding uncoordinated actions in Russia. The ministry stressed that the rallies are not “planned”, but illegal.
