Prosecutor Yekaterina Frolova, who is involved in cases with opposition leader Alexei Navalny, is under state protection, an informed source told Interfax on Saturday.
“Frolova is currently under protection. In particular, she has been provided with personal protection,” the source said.
In this connection, protective measures were taken against her, the source did not specify.
Accompanied by security guards, the prosecutor appeared at a meeting of the Simonovsky Court of Moscow in the Moscow City Court on February 2, in which the issue of canceling Navalny’s conditional conviction in the so-called Yves Rocher case, as well as at a meeting of the magistrate court on February 5, where she supported the charge against the oppositionist in a criminal case on libel against a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.

Ekaterina Frolova works in the criminal justice department of the Moscow prosecutor’s office. Previously, according to open sources, she held the position of senior assistant prosecutor for the Central Administrative District of the capital.
