The Kremlin commented on the position of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on the situation with Alexei Navalny.
Earlier it became known that the ECHR demanded the immediate release of Navalny.
“You know, our attitude to this decision was voiced yesterday by the Minister of Justice (Konstantin. – RT) Chuichenko, the decision is illegal, it is a very serious attempt to interfere in internal Russian court cases, which, from our point of view, is unacceptable,” Peskov said.
He added that such decisions of the ECHR, the bias in their adoption raise questions.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Justice, Konstantin Chuichenko, said that the ECHR’s demand to release Alexei Navalny is gross interference in the activities of the judiciary of a sovereign state, it is impracticable.
