The decision takes effect from April 1, 2021.
Liquefied petroleum gas and diesel fuel from Rosneft will not be supplied to customers in Ukraine from April 1. This was announced in an official letter by the Swiss trading company Proton Energy Group S.A., which is the exclusive supplier of Rosneft’s diesel fuel and LPG to Ukraine, Sharij.net reported.
“We deeply regret to inform you that Proton Energy Group SA has decided to terminate cooperation and the supply of oil products to the Ukrainian market from April 1, 2021 … We ask you to consider this letter as an official notice of termination of the contract. We attach an agreement on termination of the contract for your approval and signing,” – says the letter from Proton Energy Group.
Proton explains the reasons for his decision by the actions of the Ukrainian authorities.
“In early March 2021, the company received information from one of the members of the Oil and Gas Association of Ukraine that the Security Service of Ukraine strongly recommends that participants in the Ukrainian fuel market not cooperate with Proton Energy Group SA and refrain from buying oil products from the company,” the letter says.
In addition, as explained in Proton, the trader’s decision was influenced by the events of the past week regarding the Glusco gas station network, owned by Glusco Energy SA, as well as the arrest by the Ukrainian authorities of the technological volume of diesel fuel in the pipeline owned by the company in February 2021.
“As a result of the aforementioned … actions of the Ukrainian authorities, you may have delays and / or refusal in customs clearance of oil products supplied by the company to the Ukrainian border. The company suffers financial losses due to the seizure of its diesel fuel and would like to avoid such a situation for your business, ”summarized in Proton.
Earlier, NJSC Naftogaz agreed to transfer for temporary safekeeping the arrested section of the oil pipeline PrikarpatZapadtrans LLC, which belongs to the leader of the Opportunity Program for Life Protection Viktor Medvedchuk, Ukrtransnafta.
Recall that on February 19, the National Security and Defense Council adopted a decision on sanctions against the leader of the opposition party Viktor Medvedchuk and his wife Oksana Marchenko. After the imposition of sanctions
well-known TV presenter Oksana Marchenko announced that she was joining her husband’s party. Prior to that, she declared her political apathy.
The parliamentary party OLEZ is oppositional in Ukraine and stands for cooperation with Russia, recognized the conflict in Donbass as a civil war, and calls for investigating the crimes committed during the coup in 2014. In addition, the party leaders spoke about the need to restore Ukraine’s sovereignty and get out of external control from the United States.
It also became known that Medvedchuk was interrogated by the investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine.
