Citizens of Russia will issue a card with an electronic carrier and will be able to use an application in a smartphone to store all information.
Residents of Moscow will be able to issue and receive electronic passports from December 1, 2021, follows from the draft presidential decree posted on the portal of regulatory legal acts.
According to the document, this opportunity will appear throughout the country no later than July 1, 2023.
It is assumed that a citizen will be able to install a mobile application that will act as a passport.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that e-passports will begin to be issued in the capital in the IV quarter.
The document will be a plastic card the size of a bank card with a Russian-made electronic data carrier.
