At the same time, the press service of the EMERCOM of Russia added that the fire and rescue units did everything possible to prevent the spread of combustion products to the operating room, as well as “dangerous fire factors” on possible escape routes. “In case of deterioration of the operational situation for the medical staff and the patient, self-rescuers were prepared, as well as the necessary equipment to move the patient,” added the press service of the department.
A source at the Amur State Medical Academy told TASS that during the fire at the cardio center, three operations were performed, including coronary artery bypass grafting. Firefighters spilled so that water did not enter the operating rooms. According to the regional Ministry of Health, the evacuation of patients from the cardiology center continues, at 14:00 (08:00 Moscow time) 16 patients were admitted to the Amur Regional Clinical Hospital (AOKB). One of the patients was transported by the intensive care team immediately after surgery. Also, two more people were redirected to the AOKB, who were transported to the cardio center from Svobodny for hospitalization. Health workers provide all the necessary assistance to patients.
According to the Telegram channel of the Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov, the regional authorities will reward the doctors who performed the operation during the fire in the Blagoveshchensk cardiology center.
“I gave the task to the apparatus to prepare award sheets for doctors who completed the operation during the fire,” the message says.
