The appearance of the US military in Ukraine will require Russia to take extra measures to ensure its security, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president.
“Undoubtedly, such a scenario development (the appearance of the US military in Ukraine. – RDN) would lead to a further increase in tensions near the Russian borders. Of course, this will require additional measures from the Russian side to ensure its security,” Peskov said.
Earlier it became known that the Ministers of Defense of Ukraine and the United States Andriy Taran and Lloyd Austin discussed by phone the current situation in Donbass and interaction between the countries in the field of security. As reported, Austin “reaffirmed the US commitment to building the potential of Ukrainian forces to better defend against Russian aggression.”
On March 31, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba held telephone talks with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry explained that the reasons for the escalation of the situation on the border of Ukraine and Russia should be sought in Ukraine itself and Kiev’s desire to explain its failures by the actions of Russia, to divert attention from the problems they face, which they are unable to solve. Including related to the fall in popularity of the ruling party of the president of the country, which may lead to his removal from power.
