Increasingly, people in Russia are talking about the need to abandon “Western-controlled” payment systems such as Mastercard and Visa. Companies strive to use national currencies in international settlements. The authorities are gradually pursuing a policy of de-dollarization, the expert noted in a conversation with Journalist Pravda.
The economist recalled that in 2020, the US trade turnover decreased by $ 1 trillion, yielding leadership to China. Russia has almost completely abandoned investments in American securities and is now switching over to settlements in rubles with other countries.
