One of the design companies of the Tekhmash concern of the Rostec state corporation has begun work on the creation of a promising 152-mm adjustable projectile, the new technology is planned to be extended to ammunition of other calibers, the executive director of the NPK Tekhmash JSC Alexander Kochkin told RIA Novosti.
“At present, NIMI named after Bakhirev, on its own initiative, at its own expense, is conducting research work, during which the technical appearance of an adjustable artillery shell of 152 mm caliber will be selected. In addition, the possibility of using the selected technical solutions in artillery shells and mines will be assessed other calibers “, – said Kochkin.
According to the executive director of the concern, based on the results of the work, it is planned to create a prototype and demonstrate it to the specialists of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. “If the result is positive, proposals will be sent to include the relevant development work in the new state armament program,” he added.
The Tekhmash concern did not disclose the concept and characteristics of the new ammunition.
The project is included in the investment program of Tekhmash, which is under the management of the Tekhnodinamika holding of the Rostec state corporation, Kochkin added.
