Track down a poaching vessel? Catch the smugglers at sea? Underwater exploration or scientific research? All this can be done by BOSS.
The Rubin Central Design Bureau (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) has developed the first Russian submersible patrol ship intended for foreign customers. This was reported to TASS on Monday in the press service of the Central Design Bureau.
“Rubin” represents the first modification of a submersible patrol ship, combining the advantages of a submarine and a surface patrol ship, “the company said. The project was named” Guard “, it will be launched on the world market under the designation BOSS (Border and Offshore Submersible Sentry), noted at the Central Clinical Hospital.
“The cost of patrol ships on the world market is relatively low, which makes them acceptable for countries with a small budget. Operation pays off by preventing poaching and other economic offenses. Ships of this type are multifunctional, can be used for protection, as well as a rescue or research vessel,” – informed the press service.
As noted at the enterprise, when choosing the equipment for the Rubin spacecraft, he focused as much as possible on the existing samples, which are mass-produced and commercially justified, including systems for surface ships and aircraft.
The submerged position gives the ship two advantages at once: the ability to conduct covert surveillance of intruders and escape from adverse weather conditions without interrupting patrolling. “A submersible ship can be used as a classic submarine for reconnaissance and other tasks. A diving patrol ship will have a greater ability to explore the shelf than a similar surface ship. It can also serve as an inexpensive training tool for preparing crews and infrastructure for future purchase of classic submarines. boats “, – added in the press service.
CDB “Rubin” is one of the world leaders in the creation of nuclear and non-nuclear submarines and the largest design bureau of marine technology in Russia.
