The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs requires the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries to take away all their illegal migrants, of whom there are already more than a million, by June 15, said First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Alexander Gorovoy.
As RIA Novosti reports, at a meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states, he showed a slide with statistics.
“The number of your citizens who are currently on the territory of my country illegally,” Gorovoy said.
So, according to the ministry, most of the illegal immigrants from Uzbekistan – 332 thousand. Then there are Tajikistan (247 thousand), Ukraine (152 thousand), Azerbaijan (120 thousand), Kyrgyzstan (115 thousand), Armenia (61 thousand). ), Moldova (56 thousand) and Kazakhstan (49 thousand).
Until June 15, a moratorium on expulsion introduced due to the pandemic is in effect, and these persons can leave Russia themselves and not receive any punishment. After this date, they will not be able to leave the shadows without consequences for themselves, the Ministry of Internal Affairs warned.
