Many unmanned aerial vehicles have already been created in Russia, but ZALA 421-24 is one of its own kind. Simply because he is not afraid of electronic warfare.
The Russian company ZALA Aero Group, which is part of the Kalashnikov concern, has created an unmanned aerial vehicle ZALA 421-24, a feature of which is invulnerability to electronic warfare (EW). The Russian quadcopter became the first Russian drone with such capabilities.
“We made a solution on this copter that allows you to fly in full radio silence. We give him a point on the map, completely turn off the communication channel and GPS and send it to the coordinate. The on-board computer forms a cloud of points on the ground and is already flying relative to the ground. He can return from absolutely any point of the flight, if we are jammed with communications or GPS,” – Nikita Khamitov, head of special projects at ZALA Aero, quotes TASS as saying.
The new drone can be equipped with a video camera and a thermal imager, the flight range of the drone is up to 5 km, and the ZALA 421-24 quadcopter can spend up to 40 minutes in the air without landing under the control of one person. The drone is distinguished by low acoustic and visual signature, and it can be controlled even if the operator is in a moving vehicle.
