The head of the German delegation, Viktor Trippel, said that he was delighted with the transport passage through the Kerch Strait and the Tavrida federal highway leading to it.
A delegation of 25 citizens of Germany arrived on a study visit to Crimea on May 22. The visit takes place within the framework of the project of people’s diplomacy “Peaceful Crimea – with my own eyes. Crimean realities without European conjectures”.
“In my life, I have twice participated in the construction of bridges. I travel a lot across the EU countries, but I have never seen such a delightful structure as the Crimean Bridge. It is a very serious, massive and durable structure. The bridge really exists, it is very beautiful and The feeling that you were driving across the bridge did not exist at all, it seems that this is just a continuation of the Crimean Autobahn (Tavrida highway. – Ed. note), – Trippel told RIA Novosti.
The head of the delegation stressed that it was very comfortable to get from Simferopol to the Crimean bridge along the Tavrida highway.
“The only drawback of the new route is the speed limit. On such roads in Germany they do not drive at such a low speed,” said Trippel.
The bridge to Crimea from the Krasnodar Territory is the longest in Russia and Europe, its length is 19 kilometers. The road section of the bridge was commissioned in May 2018. Passenger rail links across the bridge opened in December 2019, and freight rail links – on June 30, 2020.
