About 30 Armenian servicemen were killed during the battles with Azerbaijani forces in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh.
Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toganyan stated this, Gazeta.ru reports.
“According to the latest data, about 30 dead and 100 injured, but the data is still being specified. We are talking about the military, ”the diplomat said.
On September 27, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced that it was launching a “counter-offensive operation” in response to the actions of the Armenian Armed Forces, which “fired at the settlements on the contact line in Karabakh.”
In the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, it was reported that settlements, including the capital, Stepanakert, were subjected to artillery fire.
As a result of the hostilities, there are civilian and military casualties on both sides. Martial law and mobilization have been declared in Karabakh and Armenia. Partial mobilization has been announced in Azerbaijan, martial law has been introduced in some cities.
