Built in the 9th century, the Dadivank temple in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic was taken under their protection by the Russian peacekeeping forces.
This church should be returned to Baku by November 15.
The corresponding message was posted on Facebook by the director of the information service of the spiritual center of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) Priest Vahram Melikyan. He noted that currently there are several ministers of the church in the temple.
“I inform you that Dadivank is already under the control of the Russian peacekeepers, it is not in danger. Now there are several clergymen in the church who will continue the divine services and the performance of the sacraments,” Melikyan said in a statement.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a conversation with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev. During this conversation, Putin stressed the importance of ensuring the normal functioning of Christian monasteries and churches on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.
