All 78 residents of a nursing home in the Spanish city of Lagartera have contracted the coronavirus after being vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, seven of them have died, EFE reported.
According to the administration of the institution in the province of Toledo, all elderly people living here received the first dose of the vaccine on January 13.
When the first symptoms of the disease appeared in ten vaccinated, they were attributed to the side effects of the vaccine. However, with the advent of new patients, it was decided to isolate all guests in their rooms.
As of February 1, seven people died in the institution, four more were hospitalized, the rest continue to live in isolation.
The directorate announced full compliance with the protocols of all sanitary standards and noted that this is the first appearance of COVID-19 within the walls of the institution since the beginning of the pandemic.
