The death toll from a cargo shipwreck off the coast of northeastern Madagascar rose to 64 people.
24 passengers of the ship are considered missing. According to Mami Randrianavoni, director of maritime operations for the Agency of Sea and River Ports (APMF), cited by Reuters, the cargo ship, which is not allowed to carry people, was overloaded. As a result, the engine was flooded with water.
Recall, the incident occurred late in the evening of December 20. There were 138 people on board.
