Cross-country skier Natalya Nepryaeva won bronze in the classic race of the Tour de Ski.
Russian skier Natalya Nepryaeva won bronze in the 10-kilometer time trial of the first stage of the Tour de Ski in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. The results are available on the website of the International Ski Federation (FIS).
The skier covered the distance in 27 minutes and 34.5 seconds. The winner became the representative of Finland, Kerttu Niskanen with the result of 27 minutes and 4 seconds. Ebba Andersson of Sweden finished second, 18.2 seconds back.
On December 28 Nepryaeva had a conflict with Tiril Weng of Norway in the sprint quarterfinals of the first stage of the Tour de Ski. During the race her rival ran into her skis, after which Nepryaeva lagged behind and finished second. After the race the Russian yelled at her opponent, who smiled in return.
