Natural fires are raging in the U.S. state of Colorado, reports “BBC”. Governor Jared Polis declared a state of emergency.
Hundreds of homes destroyed, tens of thousands of people evacuated. In Lewisville and Supirior alone, 30,000 residents have been evacuated.
The situation is toughest in Boulder County, north of Denver. Authorities say the situation is serious, and casualties can’t be ruled out.
Fires rage on the background of the historical drought, carry the fire with the wind speed of up to 169 km/h.
In past years, wildfires have mainly occurred in rural areas of Colorado, but this year they are getting closer to cities.
Some of the fires were caused by broken power lines.
