Colonel of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan Azamat Ibrayev was found dead in the yard of his house on January 10, the security service reported. The agency noted that a pre-trial investigation was underway.
Recall that in early January, rallies against rising gas prices began in Kazakhstan, which turned into clashes with the police, attacks on government agencies began. In the riots injured thousands of people, some of whom died. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev appealed to the CSTO for help. On January 9, the deployment of a contingent of CSTO peacekeepers was completed.
