The North Korean authorities said they had conducted another test of a hypersonic missile a day earlier, South Korea’s Renhap news agency reported.
The DPRK explained that the launch was needed to confirm data on the technical characteristics of the developed missile.
The South Korean military said Tuesday that according to its information, the missile flew more than 700 kilometers over the sea at a maximum altitude of 60 kilometers. According to Seoul, it was a ballistic missile, and its maximum speed was 10 times the speed of sound.
The missile was launched from Chagando province, which borders China, Renhap news agency reported, citing a knowledgeable source.
Last Wednesday, North Korea tested a hypersonic missile from the same area.
