In South Korea, the reactor at the Hanul nuclear power plant shut down automatically because a pump in the cooling system stopped working, Renhap reported, citing plant operator Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co.
The company added that no radiation leaks were detected.
The cause of the malfunction will be investigated by the government’s Nuclear Industry Safety Commission.
The reactor has been in use since July 2021, when maintenance work was completed, Renhap noted.
