South Korean journalists seem to have found the answer to the long-standing question of how North Korean leader Kim Jong-un managed to lose weight quickly. According to the Seoul analysts’ version, the secret lies in Kim’s passion for horseback riding, in which the North Korean leader, judging by the video newsreel, has been quite successful.
Recall that Kim Jong-un gained a lot of weight in the early years of his reign, and then, from about last year, he suddenly began to noticeably lose weight. The South Korean security services estimated that Kim gained up to 140 kilograms and then lost about 20-30 kilograms within a few months.
In recent photos and videos of Kim’s public events, it was seen that he lost a lot of weight, to the extent that his jacket and shirt looked different. Some speculated that Kim had suffered a serious illness, but the Republic of Korea National Intelligence Service (ROK NIS) said in October 2021 that Kim was healthy and had most likely gone on a diet.
