Pakistani authorities have approved the emergency use of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, Dawn writes, citing a government official.
“At a meeting hosted by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Drap) Registration Board, another vaccine was approved for emergency use – a drug developed with the support of the Russian Direct Investment Fund,” he said.
The importer and distributor of the vaccine will be the local pharmaceutical company AGP.
Sputnik V is the third vaccine approved in Pakistan after the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, as well as the Chinese company Sinopharm.
