NATO’s development of a new strategic concept, taking into account the “strengthening” of China and changes in relations with Russia, demonstrates the mentality of the Cold War, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying.
“I think this is another demonstration of the Cold War mentality,” TASS quotes her.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO’s strategic concept of 2010 needs to be updated, since it does not take into account the strengthening of China, climate change and a new approach in relations with Russia.
At the end of January, NATO called on to remain ready to respond to “aggressive actions” by Russia, terrorism and “risks associated with the rise of China.”
