Doctors of the Berlin clinic Charite did not find traces of chemical warfare agents in the blood of Alexei Navalny, this was done already in the laboratory under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Germany, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The minister recalled that Omsk doctors provided their German colleagues with the results of all the tests they carried out, as well as reports on their work.
“Navalny’s wife signed a document in which she took upon herself all the consequences of his transportation to Germany, because our doctors were not sure that it was safe. They (Omsk doctors. – Ed.) Did not find any traces of chemical warfare agents, they I said this honestly. But I draw your attention that in the Charite clinic they did not find any toxic substances in his analyzes, but they did it already in the Bundeswehr clinic. And we still do not know: the French and Swedes – they themselves took these tests Or did the Germans just give them these analyzes? ” – said Lavrov at a meeting with representatives of the Association of European Businesses in Russia (AEB).
Nevertheless, the head of the department noted, the West will most likely try to use the incident with Navalny to test “a new mechanism for imposing sanctions in the OPCW.” According to Lavrov, the facts “do not need to be rolled up and discussed on a universal basis.”
He also noted the unacceptability of the tone that some representatives of the FRG leadership admit in conversation with Moscow. “I really hope that this anomaly will pass, and it cannot reflect the true attitude of the Germans towards Russia,” the minister added.
