German Chancellor Angela Merkel has announced an increase in gender inequality during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
This is reported by TASS with reference to its podcast posted on the website of the federal government.
“Women again have to find themselves more often torn between providing homeschooling, caring for their children and their own profession,” she said.
At the same time, Merkel added that the German government intends to continue to create conditions for women to be able to best combine family and work.
“It should not be that women make a significant contribution to society and at the same time do not participate on equal terms in making important decisions in politics, economy and society,” the Chancellor emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that the US State Department intends to allocate up to $ 450 thousand for the implementation of projects aimed, among other things, at the development of digital diplomacy, media literacy and the establishment of gender equality in Georgia.
