In the partially recognized republic of Kosovo, unidentified persons robbed a Serbian Orthodox church in the village of Klokot during a stranglehold – the day of commemoration of the dead.
This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the office for Kosovo and Metohija (KiM) under the Serbian government.
“The Orthodox Church of Peter and Paul in Klokot was hacked and robbed on the day the stranglehold happens, the intruders took money and some of the utensils out of it,” said the Office of the KiM.
As noted in the statement, Serbs become victims of oppression even on holy days for the people.
“It is a shame that even on parental Saturday, Serbs are not given peace in Kosmet, their religious objects are desecrated … when people commemorate those closest to them,” the statement added.
As emphasized in the chancellery, this case speaks of threats to the Orthodox heritage in Kosovo.
