The grouping of NATO ships and, in particular, the US Navy has been unable to find a Russian submarine for a week, which suddenly disappeared from radar in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the Rostov-on-Don submarine is on alert in the planned deployment zone, RIA Novosti reports.

The disappearance of the sub has raised concerns among the US Navy, “especially over the ability of the Russian submarine to collect confidential information.”

On the eve, a number of foreign media reported that a group of NATO ships, after contact, began a search for a Russian submarine in the Mediterranean Sea.

According to him, NATO has great capabilities in the Mediterranean, but the level of secrecy of the Russian submarine has exceeded expectations.

Earlier on Friday, the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Vice-Admiral Igor Osipov, said that all six submarines of the fleet are now on alert at sea and ready to perform their assigned tasks.
Thereafter, the US Navy deployed an Allied force to help locate the “missing.”
