NATO is not yet going to accept Ukraine into the alliance, steps in the appropriate direction have not yet been envisaged, said the official representative of the FRG government Ulrike Demmer.
“No further steps are envisaged in relation to (Ukraine’s in NATO – RDN editor) membership,” Demmer told reporters in Berlin on Wednesday.
According to her, “NATO follows an open door policy in admitting new members, and” Ukraine is a long-term partner of NATO, the alliance values it very much. “
However, no new steps are planned, she stressed.

On the eve of April 6, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of the country Olga Stefanishina said that a decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on key measures on the path of the country’s integration into NATO is currently being prepared.
According to her, one of the elements of this decision will be the formation of a whole national system of transition to NATO standards.
