The second additional vessel of the Marine Rescue Service arrived for the construction of Nord Stream 2. Like the first, it will obviously monitor the security zone for the construction of a gas pipeline in Danish waters. Meanwhile, German fishing vessels have been in the area of the Fortuna barge for several days, and their movements are more like ensuring the safety of work in the area of active fishing. Earlier, Nord Stream 2 complained about Polish fishermen who repeatedly entered security zones and even ran into one of the supply vessels.

Yesterday, on April 20, the second additional rescue vessel of the Marine Rescue Service “Bakhtemir” arrived from Kaliningrad to the construction area of Nord Stream 2. Prior to that, at the end of March, Rescuer Karev joined the laying of the gas pipeline. This vessel provides a security zone for the operations of the barge “Fortuna”.
Judging by the route of the Bakhtemir, this rescue vessel will embark on the security zone of the Akademik Chersky pipelayer, which has not yet begun active work on completing line A in Danish waters. He will have to lay about 70 kilometers.

Meanwhile, two German fishing vessels Antares and Christin-Bettina have been at the Fortuna barge for the fourth day. Instead of indicating the type of operation or destination, ships report that they are contacted via Channel-16, which is intended for communication between ships in the event of a distress, urgent need, or for safety reasons. Judging by the data of the navigation portal Marinetraffic, Antares and Christin-Bettina are located from the east and west to Fortuna and have been constantly maneuvering along the pipe-laying barge over the past four days, keeping the protective zone established by the Danish Maritime Authority at a mile and a half.

The ships are based in Sassnitz, near the port of Mukran, which is the logistics center of Nord Stream 2. It is possible that Antares and Christin-Bettina were involved in securing the security zone for the construction of the gas pipeline.
At least in December, Antares had already secured a buffer zone for the construction of Nord Stream 2, when Fortuna was completing a small section in German waters.

The completion area of Nord Stream 2 in Danish waters is an active fishing zone, and in April project representatives complained that Polish fishermen had threatened the construction on more than one occasion.

Thus, on the night of March 30, on board the Rescuer Karev, two objects were found by the radar near the barge Fortuna, one of which was heading towards the pipelayer and did not answer radio calls. The Russian vessel took a crossing course, after which the fishing schooner turned south. The second vessel left the area immediately after. Andrei Minin, director of the Nord Stream 2 AG branch in the Kingisepp District of the Leningrad Region, told Interfax about this.
Earlier, on February 22, the supply vessel Vladislav Strizhov had to block the path of the trawler KOL-194 (SWI-106).
“Repeated attempts to establish radio contact with him were unsuccessful. In this situation, the supply vessel “Vladislav Strizhev” was forced to enter the pushback course, as a result of which SWI-106 made a bulk on the “Vladislav Strizhev”. After the collision, the captain of the fishing vessel got in touch and pleaded guilty to the incident. If not for the decisive actions of the supply vessel, the blow would have hit the pipe-laying barge Fortuna. Through the Russian consulate in Germany, a sea protest was lodged on this incident, ”said the director of the Nord Stream 2 AG branch in the Kingisepp District of the Leningrad Region.

Barge Fortuna resumed the completion of line B of Nord Stream 2 in February, and at the end of April the work is in its final stages. In Danish waters, the vessel has 12 kilometers left to lay out of 49.
