The organizers removed the Russian flag from the table during the fourth round of the World Drafts Champion match between Tamara Tansykkuzhina of Russia and Natalya Sadovskaya of Poland. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.
A man approached them, removed the Russian flag and peeled off the tricolor plate from the side of the table. At the same time, the match for the world championship began at the end of last week, and all this time the flag was on the table.
The organizers apologized to the drafts player, explaining the incident as an oversight and pressure from WADA. The President of the Polish Drafts Federation said, I quote: “We were told that we must do it immediately, right during the game, otherwise WADA will exclude the International Drafts Federation today.” WADA, in turn, said that they asked to remove the flag “as soon as possible”, but not during the match.
Commented by the honored trainer, referee of the international republican category in drafts Igor Umnov.
“What does WADA have to do with it? There has never been any doping anywhere in chess – you won’t be smarter from this, only worse. In checkers, in chess, doping cannot be used in any way. Naturally, Tamara Mikhailovna was very upset, of course, no one expected this, and she lost the game. They still have a match to play, more than half of them. “

The Russian Drafts Federation, in turn, called the incident demonstrative disrespect. And the Polish drafts player, as a sign of solidarity, removed the flag of her country from the table.
