According to Jacek Czaputowicz, instead of one Fort Trump in the country there will be several American military projects.
“There will not be one base, but there will be several objects in different parts of Poland. This involves NATO’s plans to increase operational readiness. There will be about 6-7 places, that is, the pilots will be in one place, the leadership in another, the tank troops in the third and so on,” said the minister.
By words the diplomat, for these purposes it will be necessary to modernize some military objects.
In September, the Presidents of Poland and the United States, Andrzej Duda and Donald Trump, signed a declaration on expanding defense cooperation. The document provides for an increase in the number of American soldiers in the republic from 4.5 thousand to 5.5 thousand and their deployment in six military projects throughout the country.
At present, Poland hosts a multinational NATO battalion of about one thousand troops, as well as an American tank brigade of about 3.5 thousand troops on a rotational basis.
