The assassination of the President of Haiti may be related to his negotiations with the PRC on the supply of vaccines and the possible refusal to recognize Taiwan, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova wrote.
Haitian President Jovenel was fatally wounded in an attack on his residence on the night of 7 July. His wife Martin Moise was injured, she was being treated at a Miami hospital. Haitian law enforcement officials said they had identified 28 suspects, of whom 26 were Colombian citizens, and 23 were arrested.
Zakharova noted that on June 16, 2021, US Permanent Representative to the UN Thomas-Greenfield accused Beijing of using “vaccine diplomacy pressure” on Haiti – one of the few states that still maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan, and not with PRC.
“It is possible that the Americans became aware of the contacts between Beijing and Port-au-Prince, in dire need of vaccines …. While Haitians were dying from the coronavirus, before Haitian President Jovenel Moise there was an example of the neighboring Dominican Republic, which recently recognized the PRC and severed diplomatic relations.” with Taiwan and taking part in the fight against coronavirus,” Zakharova wrote in her telegram channel.
In addition, the Dominican Republic is attracting Chinese investment in the construction of the Dominican-Haitian border railway.
“Development of infrastructure (first of all – road) was one of the priorities of President Moiza in office,” Zakharova recalled.
In addition, after the murder of Moise, some of the performers hid in the Taiwan mission.
“A significant part of the detainees flew to the island of America,” Zakharova also added. At the same time, tickets from the capital of Colombia were purchased with a credit card from the Florida (USA) CTU Security.
“Often, under the cover of” security agencies that Americans use to achieve their goals in various regions of the world,” Zakharova recalled.
In addition, Venezuelan counterintelligence officials reported that the CTU security service is in a failed assassination attempt on Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
“That is, the murderers have relevant experience. Some of them were trained in the United States, according to media reports,” Zakharova said.
Finally, two of the suspects are US citizens with American passports, said a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry.
