The Iranian military has created a defensive system of missile systems located underground on the coast of the Persian and Gulf of Oman. This was stated on Sunday by the commander of the naval forces of the Islamic revolutionary guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the armed forces of Iran) Alireza Tangsiri.
“Our enemies know that the army and the IRGC have underground missile cities located along the entire coast of the Persian Gulf and Mekran [the Gulf of Oman coast]. However, they do not have accurate information, ” Tasnim quoted Him as saying.
Tangsiri added that ” along the entire [southern] sea border with a length of 2.2 thousand km, there are currently 428 naval units, numbering more than 23 thousand soldiers.”
Iran has a long Maritime border, part of which extends to the Indian ocean. At the same time, the main part of the country’s Navy is concentrated in the Persian Gulf. On June 22, Tangsiri said that the Iranian Armed forces intend to start work on establishing a military base in the Indian ocean by the end of this year.
