The US Department of Defense released a drone-filmed video of an Iranian missile strike on a US airbase in Iraq in January 2020. It was shown on television, and the video was also posted on the YouTube channel The War Zone.
The video, filmed with an infrared camera, shows how six missiles, one after another, hit the facilities of the Ein al-Assad base. In total, according to various sources, from 11 to 16 missiles were involved in the attack.
American fighters were reported to have been damaged as a result. Not a single American soldier was killed, but 110 base employees, who were nearby at the time of the impact, had to seek medical help due to head injuries.
On the night of January 8, 2020, Iran launched a missile attack on US military installations in Iraq. This was in response to the death in Baghdad as a result of the US airstrike of the commander of the Al-Quds special forces, General Qasem Soleimani.
