The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is studying the livery of the Haas team car for the new Formula 1 season, made in the colors of the Russian flag.
On Thursday, Haas unveiled the livery of the car for the 2021 season, the car will be painted in white-blue-red colors. The team representatives stressed that the International Automobile Federation (FIA) has approved the livery with the Russian tricolor. The head of “Haas” Gunther Steiner said that the team is American and can place these colors on the car, the ban on the use of the flag applies only to the Russian driver “Haas” Nikita Mazepin.
“WADA is aware of this issue and is studying it with the relevant authorities,” – quoted the statement of the agency Formula1News.co.uk.
Mazepin will compete in Formula 1 in the status of a neutral athlete without the flag and anthem of Russia in connection with the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on the dispute between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).
