Joe Biden, during a TV interview, responded positively to the question whether he considers Vladimir Putin a “killer.” The US President also said that the Russian leader would “pay” for attempts to interfere in the American elections.
During an interview, ABC journalist George Stephanopoulos asked Mr Biden if he considered Vladimir Putin to be a murderer.
“Mmm, hmm, I do,” the president replied.
The journalist asked the president about the reaction to the US National Intelligence report, which said that the Russian president may have been leading attempts to discredit Joe Biden.
“He will pay… We had a long conversation, I know him quite well. At the beginning of the conversation, I told him: “I know you, and you know me. If I find out that this was happening, be prepared,” Joe Biden added.
At the same time, he noted that it is possible to work with Moscow on topics that are of mutual interest. In this regard, Mr. Biden recalled the decision to extend the Strategic and Offensive Arms Treaty (START-3).
“We believe that President Putin and the Russian state approved and campaigned to influence the 2020 elections,” the US National Intelligence report said. The campaign’s goals also include discrediting the Democratic Party, supporting former President Donald Trump, undermining American confidence in the electoral process and exacerbating the socio-political division in the United States. At the same time, it is argued that there was no direct cyberattack on infrastructure from Moscow.
