Ilya Naishuller’s Nobody, starring Bob Odenkirk, grossed US $ 6.7 million and topped the American box office at the end of the weekend. This is the first time in the history of US film distribution, when the first position was taken by a film by a Russian director.
The film “Nobody” was released in American theaters on Friday, March 26th. During the first day of screenings, the film earned more than $ 2.5 million, leaving behind the Disney animated movie “Paradise and the Last Dragon”, as well as the successful acting in the box office of the tapes “Tread of Chaos”, “The Croods: Housewarming” and “Intercessor”.
At the end of the weekend, the film by Russian director Naishuller consolidated its success: $ 6.7 million at 2,460 sites allowed the film Nobody to retain the lead in the American box office.
The premiere of the tape in Russia took place on March 18. On the day of the premiere, Nobody raised 12.8 million rubles, which was also the best result. At the end of the weekend, the film’s gross was 91.8 million rubles.
In the center of the plot of the film “Nobody” is the story of an ordinary middle-aged man Hutch Mansell. At first, the hero does nothing extraordinary – he cannot even protect the family from the robbers. But gradually it becomes clear that Hutch is a very dangerous opponent.
The hero runs into a group of guys who molest a lonely girl. By intercepting a stranger, Mansell demonstrates his strength, and after the incident enters into direct confrontation with the Russian mafia. He has to show all the skills acquired once – in another life.
The freshness rating of the project on Rotten Tomatoes was 80%. Also, the new thriller earned a positive rating from 95% of viewers (based on the votes of several hundred users).
