Moscow allegedly “brought instability” to US-Russian relations. This opinion was expressed on Thursday by the head of the press service of the State Department Ned Price at a regular briefing for journalists.
“We can and will, in a broader sense, strive for stable and predictable relations [with Russia]. Until now, it was the Russian government, the Kremlin, which brought this instability into relations, including through malicious activity,” the diplomat said.
“I would not want to announce what could happen if Moscow continues to follow this road, but we made it clear that we will continue to hold Moscow accountable,” Price argued.
“President [US Joe] Biden has made it very clear that Russia will be held accountable. President Biden is a man of his word. I think you will face another reminder of this,” the US foreign policy official concluded.
As the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday, the unpredictability and aggressiveness of Washington’s political course towards Moscow makes it possible to use virtually any vocabulary to describe it. He commented on the statements of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who called the “stupid” line of the United States in policy towards Russia.
